Mey So (she/her), Therapy Intern
Experiences can shape our understanding of the world and the role we play in it. I work with families, couples, and individuals to explore, change, and create new experiences to support the path they want to take. I enjoy working with folks in interracial relationships, migrants/immigrants, monogamous and non-monogamous relationships, those facing sex and intimacy challenges, and those needing support for their day-to-day life difficulties. I provide service in both English and Khmer.
How I work:
Building genuine connections is my main priority. I show up as I am and create a space where you can be vulnerable and comfortable to explore what you need to foster change.
I think systemically, so we’ll consider how your community, the society we live in, and your relationships impact you. I incorporate different treatment modalities to tailor to your individual needs. Your narrative and experience are important and deserve to be heard in and outside of therapy.
My Background:
I am completing a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota. I received my undergraduate degree at Macalester College in Neuroscience and Community and Global Health, both of which I am very passionate about. I also have experience working in inpatient mental health and advocacy. Outside of work, I enjoy playing volleyball and softball, doing anything outdoors, cooking, cleaning, and teasing my dog.
